Business Experience. Community Roots. A Clear Reason to Serve.
My name is Avi Dhaliwal. Brampton has been my home for more than three decades. I raised my family and built my business here.
As the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Freeway Group, I developed experience in commercial real estate, financing, business growth and investment.
Business taught me to set priorities, hire well, watch the money, address problems early, listen, measure results and accept responsibility.
Residents are not asking City Hall for miracles. They want safe streets, reliable services, fair treatment, better roads, good jobs, clean neighbourhoods and honest information. Too often, responsibility is passed from one level of government to another. Some roads belong to the City, others to Peel Region and Highway 410 to the Province. Policing is regional. Hospitals are provincial. Auto insurance is provincially regulated. Residents should not need to understand every jurisdiction before receiving help. Where the City has authority, I will act. Where another government decides, I will build the case, press for action and report the response.
Action means moving from an announcement to a deadline, a responsible department and a result.
Vision means planning beyond the next budget. Brampton needs a stronger economic identity, more employment, safe housing, reliable infrastructure and a reputation that attracts investment.
Integrity means telling people what City Hall controls, what it does not control, what a proposal will cost and whether it is working.
“I'm not running to become a politician. I'm running to bring proven leadership to City Hall.”
Avi brings years of experience working with businesses, community organizations, and residents to understand challenges and deliver practical solutions. His leadership is built on collaboration, accountability, and a commitment to making Brampton a stronger place to live, work, and grow.
With a background in business, community engagement, and public service, Avi understands what it takes to create opportunity, support families, and build a more efficient and responsive city government. His focus is on action, transparency, and delivering measurable results for Brampton residents.
I will listen before deciding, explain how proposals will be delivered and paid for, and work with residents, businesses, organizations and governments. One person cannot solve every problem, but Brampton can believe in its potential again.
Brampton is one of Canada’s largest and most diverse cities, with approximately 800,000 residents and more than 124,000 businesses. Growth has also brought traffic, long commutes, tax pressure, housing concerns, business delays and demand for safer, cleaner neighbourhoods. I am running for Mayor because Brampton can do better. My plan is practical: lower property-tax pressure, create jobs close to home, retain employers, improve facilities and roads, make transit follow demand, control spending and publish clear results.
