A Clean City Shows Respect

I will establish response standards for illegal dumping, graffiti, dangerous debris, recurring litter, damaged signs and serious property complaints.

High-priority health and safety problems should receive immediate attention. Verified dumping and graffiti complaints should receive an initial action or clear response within 72 hours whenever operationally possible.

Pride Corridors

Each ward will identify gateways, commercial streets and public routes as Pride Corridors with coordinated cleaning, landscaping, lighting, enforcement, maintenance, a responsible department and public results.

Trees, Shade and Green Space

Brampton reports 875 parks and more than 3,114 hectares of parkland and open space. The One Million Trees program aims to plant one million trees by 2040 and reports more than 244,000 planted to date.

The focus will be tree survival, shade near sidewalks and transit stops, replacement after disease or construction, connected trails, resilient species and low-canopy or high-heat neighbourhoods.

Recycling and Waste Education

I will support plain-language, multilingual waste education through schools, landlords, community groups and the Resident Passport, while working with Peel on dumping, bulky items and repeat problems.

Prepare Before the Emergency

Brampton faces heavy wind, snow, extreme temperatures, freezing rain, severe storms, floods and wildfire smoke.

I will introduce a Prepared Brampton Scorecard covering:

  • Flood and stormwater risks
  • Vulnerable roads, facilities and neighbourhoods
  • Backup power for critical City services
  • Cooling locations and extreme-heat outreach
  • Air-quality and wildfire-smoke communication
  • Emergency routes and detours
  • Support for seniors, people with disabilities and medically vulnerable residents
  • Public exercises and lessons learned
  • Preparedness should be measured before an emergency, not explained after one.

Practical Climate Action

Brampton’s climate action should protect residents and reduce long-term costs through trees and shade, flood protection, stormwater infrastructure, efficient City facilities, cleaner transportation, resilient roads, waste reduction, recycling and emergency planning.

Membership in outside climate organizations, including networks such as C40, should be judged by cost, commitments and measurable benefit to Brampton—not by the value of adding the City’s name to a list.
